I tried a couple other prep books (Kaplan, Cliff's Notes) and found this to be the most useful. Thorough and well written I highly recommend it. Well done Princeton Review.

Too much Detail/Spotty Coverage/Inaccurate Tests

Background: I am most familiar with the material for math/science. After thoroughly reviewing this section, I switched to CliffNotes, which is MUCH, MUCH better than this book.
Princeton Review: The practice tests were inaccurate and I found the coverage to be too detailed with subjects that were completely missed. For instance, it has 15 pages of advanced statistics; in addition it covers trigonometry. It was even overwhelming to a hardcore math/science major. The online practice test for Math/Science had numerous type errors and factual errors (I know I couldn't have been wrong 50% of the time...so my confidence in the book went down with each obvious error). It almost seemed like Princeton just cut and copy material from their other books without taking into account the was a multiple subject test for ELEMENTARY school teachers.
I really needed the book for the history coverage but basically this section said you needed to know everything from the beginning of time to current day affairs in California, gave some standard test taking tips using historical information and encouraged you to buy a few of their other princeton books related to history. Frankly, I don't have time to read roughly 1000 pages of their other books...
Save yourself time and money and get CliffNotes...It has an appropriate level of detail and great coverage...

Excellent book - a must for this exam

As a person who worked for Kaplan Test Prep for several years, I was immediately impressed by this book. The thoroughness of the material and accessibility is second to none, and was a primary reason why I did as well as I did on the exam.
